Rainfall

The average total rainfall per day from [data loading] rainfall stations in the Thames river basin, upstream of Kingston: Due to limitations on the Defra service used, data for each day only becomes available 2 days later.

Data information

The stream flow and level data used is measured around Kingston Bridge, obtained from the Environment Agency Real Time flood-monitoring API.
Trend calculation is currently purely based off previous data - for example, the trend over the week is calculated as the difference between the average flow in 24 hours a week ago vs the last 24 hours.

Rainfall data is measured at 58 different stations in or near the Thames river basin catchment area above Teddington Lock (although the number of actually functioning stations is lower and varies). This data is provided by the Defra Hydrology Data API.

Future plans

I'm hoping to improve the trend information by factoring in the rainfall data I have been working on, and I would like to reintroduce rainfall forecast data, so everything required to predict trends is in one place. Also have an idea for river level information. I want to add graphs for historical data, eg. average values each month.
